Slow days in your own villa

Outside the dinner, your days can be as simple as you like. Breakfast is served à la carte each morning. Your butler can help you plan your time, and fresh fruit and a replenished minibar are part of every day. The 90-minute massage is a good way to rest after a long flight or a busy year.

Christmas and New Year in Sayan, Ubud

Sayan sits on the western edge of Ubud, above the Ayung River Valley. It is close enough to visit Ubud's cafés, markets and temples, yet far from the busy streets of the town centre. During the festive season, this matters. Late December is one of Bali's busiest travel periods, and a quieter base makes the holiday feel more restful.

In 2026, Christmas Eve falls on Thursday, 24 December, and New Year's Eve falls on Thursday, 31 December. The Festive of Wonders stay period covers both dates, as well as the first days of 2027.

Premier River View Villa

At 145 sqm, this villa has open-air living and dining areas and a more direct outlook towards the Ayung River. It is a good choice if the river view is the most important part of your stay.

Because every villa is designed for two guests, The Ridge Bali is well suited to couples. Local culture during your holiday

Christmas and New Year are not Balinese religious holidays, but daily life in Bali is full of ceremony. Around Ubud, you may see offerings, temple visits and traditional music during your stay.

The Ridge Bali can help arrange selected cultural experiences, such as Balinese cooking, pottery or silver crafting, and traditional water purification. These experiences are not listed as inclusions in Festive of Wonders, so availability and any extra cost should be confirmed with our team.

If you plan a longer stay into January, note that the next Galungan holiday falls on 13 January 2027, with Kuningan on 23 January 2027. During this time, villages decorate the streets with tall bamboo poles called penjor. These dates fall after the Festive of Wonders stay period.
